WATERHOUSE WALLHANGINGS
The Waterhouse Wallhangings collection features authentic reproductions of wallpapers used in the U.S. from 1700 to 1895. Sea captains brought back handmade papers from France, England, and Asia, designed by skilled artists. These designs were often inspired by brocades and tapestries found in wealthy homes. The imported wallpapers were primarily sold in New England seaport towns.
